The surgery provides antenatal and postnatal care. Mums to be need to contact the Midwife Team to arrange “booking”. The midwife will contact you to arrange to see you to complete booking and arrange the “dating scan” at around 10 – 12 weeks.

At approximately 26 weeks you will see the midwife at the surgery for regular check-ups.
Most mums-to-be will be under the care of midwives at Llandough Hospital, where scans and checks will be carried out during the pregnancy. The frequency of antenatal appointments and involvement of midwives, consultants etc. will vary depending upon the pregnancy, but this will be discussed throughout.
After the birth of your baby, your midwife will visit you at home. If you need to see the GP this can be done either by requesting a home visit or if you feel well enough, an appointment at the surgery. The Health Visitor will visit you at home 10 – 14 days after the birth of your baby.
At around 6-8 weeks after the birth, you should see the GP for a postnatal check. We usually carryout your postnatal check at the same time as the 8 week baby check so there is no need to book a separate appointment for this.
