**Our flu clinics are now available to book for with the first appointments on 1st October**
This year we have a complex winter vaccine schedule and so please note the following:
Patients aged Over 80 – will be able to receive Flu & COVID vaccines at the practice.
Patients aged 70 – 79 will be able to receive Flu and Shingles Booster, or first shingles if not received already. Earlier this year, we started vaccinating with a two dose shingles vaccine, so if patients have received 1 vaccine this year and their booster vaccine is due, this can be provided alongside flu vaccines.
Patients aged 66 – 69 will be able to receive their Flu vaccines at the practice.
Patients aged 65 will be able to receive Flu vaccine and Shingles Booster, or first Shingles vaccine if not received already. We have been inviting patients as they turn 65 this year.
Patients aged 64 and under, in an “at risk category” will be able to receive their Flu Vaccine a the practice.
House Bound Patients will be hearing from the Mass Vaccination Centre to arrange home visits. If you have not previously been included our Flu@home visits, please let the surgery know so that we can check if you have been listed for a home visit. If we previously visited you at home, your details have been passed to the MVC team already.
Our 2&3 year old patients have been invited for nasal flu vaccine and prioritised for September appointments in line with Welsh Government plans to vaccinate this age group first.
We have set up weekday clinics for the first two weeks of October offering morning or afternoon appointments to provide as many options as possible.
Week 1 is focusing on those aged over 80 and those aged 70 to 79
Week 2 is focusing on those aged 65 to 69 and those aged 64 and under at risk.
An online form to request an appointment is now live. Please visit our website:
Where possible, we would urge patients to use this form to select which category of vaccines are required and select days of the week for an appointment from the selection available.
We will send a text message with appointment details to all of those patients.
Using the online form keeps our telephone lines free for staff to help patients with other queries. If you can not use the online form or prefer to speak to a member of the team about your appointment, please call the surgery later in the day when the lines are quieter.
Thank you/ Diolch
